Multi-disciplinary artist Frank Ippolito will be sharing new works and works-in-progress in a variety of mediums, including animated video loops, paintings on cardboard, examples of his on-going Translucid series of self-illuminated photographs, and the introduction of The Long Shadow lenticular portals into another time and space.

Artist Statement : Born from a childhood fascination with light’s scattered passage through translucent surfaces, my ongoing series entitled Trans-lucid, uses each to create tension between revelation and that which cannot be known. I use mixed-media constructs that combine photography, found objects and internal illumination to carve windows onto spaces that are close enough to touch, yet entirely unreachable. Here, I explore themes of separation and connection; the otherness—as well as the humanity—of communities that thrive along the margins.
