Artist Statement : As a visual artist in the inaugural ART150, Ann Giordano's work from the series In My Courtyard explores the concepts of survival, change, decay and death using plant imagery and the photographic contact print process. Works available are unique original Cyanotypes, unique Photograms, Pigment Prints of unique light-sensitive and stabilized Lumen Prints, unique works, blank cards, postcards and multiples. Selections from the series, In My Courtyard was presented as part of a 4 woman exhibition, Meaning Making, at the Interchurch Center in NYC as part of Women’s History Month in 2023 and as a solo exhibition at the Tosei Gallery in Tokyo Japan in 2013. Photographs and Original Works have also been exhibited at Culture Lab LIC, Printed Matter, The Old Print Shop, Panepinto Galleries, Drawing Rooms, The Light Factory, San Francisco International Airport, James Danziger Gallery, Candace Perich Gallery, and the Camera Club of New York. Work is represented in various private and corporate collections, NYPL, MoMA, LA Country Museum, Musée de la Poste and the Smithsonian Archives of American Art. Images have also been featured in Blind Spot, Time Capsule, Kit and Caboodle, LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph, A Book About Death and recently included in the exhibit and catalog, Other Ways of Seeing, Alternative Processes in Photography and also, Anthotype Emulsions, Volume 2 and 3.
