In the spirit of welcoming the 36th Annual Jersey City Art & Studio Tour (JCAST), IMUR Gallery is proud to present Introductions: Dialogues in Practice, a group exhibition featuring artists we met through Pro Arts Jersey City’s Meet the Curator program.
This exhibition is both a celebration of artistic connection and a gesture of respect toward Pro Arts Jersey City, whose decades of contribution have helped shape and sustain the city’s vibrant arts community. Through one-on-one conversations with IMUR Gallery Director and Curator Ivy Huang, each participating artist shared their work, inspirations, and evolving creative journeys.
In addition to the Meet the Curator participants, we are honored to welcome two special guest artists—Edward Fausty and Nanette Reynolds Beachner—long-standing members of Pro Arts Jersey City who have visited IMUR Gallery on many occasions. Their inclusion adds a layer of continuity and shared history to the exhibition, further underscoring the strong ties between Pro Arts and IMUR.
The result is an exhibition that reflects connection, curiosity, and mutual exchange. It highlights the importance of mentorship, access, and the thoughtful encounters that can open new doors for artists at any stage in their careers.
Spanning diverse media, styles, and themes, the works on view are unified by a shared origin—meaningful artistic dialogue. We thank Pro Arts Jersey City for their continued dedication to fostering opportunities for artists, and we look forward to building more spaces where conversation leads to collaboration, and creativity flourishes in community.
